Week 4 / September 27th–October 3rd

Quiz 1 is next week on Thursday, October 7th from 7:30-9:30pm. Students with accommodation will take the exam from 6:30-9:30pm. Anyone with a conflict for quiz 1 should post a private question to piazza explaining what your conflict is and requesting to take the 6.004 quiz 1 makeup exam which will be on Tuesday, October 12th from 3-5pm. There will be a quiz review given on Tuesday, October 5th from 7:30-9:30pm. The review and exams are all in person. All rooms will be announced on piazza.

In addition, don't forget that lab 1 checkoff is due on Wednesday (Sept. 29), and lab 2 is due on Thursday (Sept. 30).

Week 2 / September 13th–September 19th

Hopefully everyone had a chance to try out the 6.004 Setup lab. Note that this needs to be completed before beginning Lab 1. Lab 1 will be released on Tuesday, September 14th around 3pm. You can expect that all lab releases will occur at 3pm. Lab 1 is our first RISC-V assembly lab. We will spend this week introducing you to the RISC-V assembly language in lectures and recitations.

If you recently added the class and are still not assigned to a recitation, please post privately to piazza with your recitation availability and we will sign you up for one.

Week 1 / September 6th–September 12th

Welcome to the Fall 2021 semester of 6.004!

The first lecture for 6.004 is on Thursday, September 9th. There is no class on Wednesday, September 8th. Our lectures are every Tuesday and Thursday from 1-2PM Boston time over in 10-250. Lectures will be taught by Silvina Hanono Wachman, Song Han, and Mengjia Yan. Recitations are on Wednesdays and Fridays and they are taught by our course TAs. Recitations are offered throughout the day from 10am-4pm so everyone should be able to fit it into their schedule. Recitations will review material taught in the previous lecture by go over concrete problems that make sue of the new material. The first recitation will be on Friday, September 10th.

If you are unsure of your recitation assignment, you can look it up via the View Recitation tool that should appear under your username in the toplevel menu. The time and TA of each recitation can be found in the course Information page. If you have a conflict with your assigned recitation, please post a private question to piazza) with your available times and we will reassign you to another recitation. If you do not show up on this list but are registered for 6.004, then also let us know via piazza and we will assign you to a recitation.
